Kiwi-bred gelding Ka Ying Rising took the global sprinting spotlight last night with a stunning victory in the Gr.1 LONGINES Hong Kong Sprint 🤩

The son of Windsor Park Stud stallion Shamexpress was bred by trainer Fraser Auret and his wife Erin under their Grandmoral Lodge Racing banner. He was sold privately to Lindsay Park after an impressive jumpout victory at Levin.

David Hayes-trained Ka Ying Rising posted eight wins from his 10 prior starts, including three at Group level. Auret said winning a Group One as a breeder gave him the same rush as his Group One victory as a trainer 🙌

“It gives you the same euphoria,” he said. “It was the same sort of pride there as when we trained our first Group One winner," Auret said.
